Prebiotics are indigestible carbohydrate compounds that have beneficial effects on the microbial population and the health of the aquatic gastrointestinal tract.

When used in combination with probiotics, they improve the beneficial bacterial population in the host gut and prevent the establishment of pathogenic bacteria. Prebiotics can also bind to pathogenic bacteria and expel them from the gastrointestinal tract, leading the intestinal microbial population to beneficial bacteria and improve gastrointestinal function, increase digestion and absorption of nutrients and strengthen the immune system, and ultimately lead to aquatic resistance against diseases, environmental pollution and increase efficiency. Adding prebiotics with probiotics can increase the activity of digestive enzymes and improve the aquatic immune system. In addition, by increasing the height of intestinal villi and changing the structure of the mucosa, it can increase the efficiency of using energy and dietary protein.
